Ten-year-old Carmen Browne certainly didn't like was she  heard when her adopted big brother said he wanted
to find his "real" parents.  She didn't like the sound of her dad's angry response or her mom's tears.  And she 
certainly didn't enjoy the noise coming from her two best friends, Layah and Rianna, when they suggested 
pulling a fast on their parents in order to enjoy a day at the mall without supervision.
Carmen tries to pick out a melody on her own, but it isn't long before lies, gossip and a scary cab ride 
create static and everyone learns lessons about honesty and really listening to each other.
